Saturday 27th April – we have a musical theatre workshop hosted by “Dazzle Dance”. A full day of exploring some of your favourite musicals through iconic dance routines. On Sunday 16 June local performer Cheryl Stapleton, Artistic Director of Learning Through Theatre, is running a workshop on masks and slapstick, guaranteed to leave you smiling.
This half day acting workshop focuses on how to use the comic techniques and performance skills of the classic Italian theatre style Commedia dell’Arte. The session involves physical tomfoolery, performing with half masks and learning movement techniques to bring the archetypal characters that typify this genre to life.
There will be slapstick action, plastic sword fighting and devising physical gags and comic sequences, plus some improvising and ad-libbing. The emphasis is on creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can work at your own pace and feel safe to let go and have fun! Although physical, this workshop is inclusive to all and everyone will be offered as an equitable experience.

We have a full programme of play reading evenings through March, April and May including some well-known scripts and excitingly, some brand new scripts hot of the press! These are friendly get togethers where we share reading (or just listening, if you prefer) a play script.
